Wellbeing and Work

The links between unemployment and mental health difficulties are proven, and the effects profound.

Unemployment creates uncertainty, and uncertainty feeds anxiety and depression. These are the most common psychological issues the NHS and Primary Care Services treat every day, and the numbers only continue to grow.

Working Minds has helped thousands of unemployed people from every age and stage to psychological recovery - improving their work and life outcomes, and in many instances helping facilitate people into jobs.

Working Minds offers specialised wellbeing services via multiple funded provisions to help enable and facilitate unemployed people closer to or back into work.

If you are unemployed, it is likely you will be claiming benefits such as Universal Credit, and you may be working with a provision such as the Restart Scheme, or the Work and Health Programme.

Depending on your area, this makes you eligible for support with Working Minds - all you need is a referral from your Work Coach or Employment Adviser.

We have a simple process to get you started, and you can be accessing the support we offer very quickly, with no long waiting lists.
