Eating, and our relationship with food, impacts on our lives each and every day. It has a direct connection with our psychological and physical health and wellbeing. We are reminded of this at every turn and, if we have a poor relationship with ourselves, it is likely that this, to a greater or lesser extent, will be affected by our relationship with what we eat. Food is intrinsically linked to body image and to exercise – by ourselves and by the media. We may use food for comfort or we may not recognise that we have an unhealthy relationship with food or with exercise that is affecting our health and well-being. Self esteem can suffer accordingly and we can feel trapped in a downward spiral. However, with support, there is hope and you can change, once you take that first step.
