  • Retirement can create unforeseen issues that can have a major effect on wellbeing. Re-adjustment imbalance and feelings of loss and lack of purpose are all common once the ‘feel good’ factor has dissipated. Preparing staff for retirement can provide an important part of your Assistance/Benefits Package.

This can be done as an individual package, as part of a small group, or a combination of both. Different people respond to upcoming or early retirement in different ways. It isn’t always as straightforward as people might think and often it might not be comfortable to discuss this with employers or life partners.

It’s also important for businesses to manage a colleague’s retirement as smoothly as possible to ensure continuity and enabling both the individual and the business to move on with positivity and no regrets.

Working Minds offers you a flexible and professional approach in this area, whether providing individual one to one planning and support, or educating in small groups. We’ll work with both Employer and Individual to deliver the right type of support that is appropriate, cost effective and timely.

  • Whether working with Emergency Services, Military Support services or in the general workplace where incidents may occur, it is important that processes are in place to protect employees from psychological disturbance and resultant stress which may occur at work.

Unprocessed emotional distress can have debilitating effects and lead to poor mental health resulting in potential long term sickness.

We can equip organisations and their employees to deal with trauma related workplace issues and be more aware and conversant about psychological wellbeing in the workplace. As a result, individuals will start to take greater responsibility for their own wellbeing.

Our approach includes one-to-one treatment sessions, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Counselling or EMDR (in acute trauma cases).

We work in partnership with the individual/group and employer to plan and deliver a stepped service, raising confidence, dealing with concerns and helping process unhelpful thinking.

  • People who have been absent for a significant period of time will often become emotionally isolated and ‘disconnect’ from their employer and job.

This can create many problems in relation to their ability to successfully return to work with both the Employer and Employee feeling the pressure to make this happen.

The person off sick will often feel anxious, losing self confidence in their ability to return and be productive, or simply ‘fit back in’ with colleagues and procedures.

If the absence is psychologically related, they may not have received adequate support via the normal Primary Care route. This means their condition may have worsened through no fault of their own but will impact heavily on their Employer and themselves.

Working Minds offers a highly effective, blended service, which combines Psychological and Practical support in conjunction with your Company procedures to help facilitate your staff back into work feeling confident, happy and re-energised.

In many of these cases, early intervention can be very positive with sessions held off site either in the Employees home or in a neutral and secure setting. We will work with their anxieties and fears and your expectations to produce positive outcomes for all concerned.
