Working Minds supporting Military Veterans

Working Minds supporting Military Veterans

Working Minds was one of a number of invited organisations to attend the signing of the Military Covenant by Seap who provide advocacy service to health and social care service users. The event took place to launch the Plymouth Veterans Advocacy Service and was supported by the Mayor of Plymouth and Alison Hernandez of Devon and Cornwall Police.

It was an excellent opportunity for all organisations to introduce themselves and work together to look at services and support on offer and highlight any gaps that might need to be addressed.

The event was a real success with many organisations finding common ground and real opportunities for partnering were actively encouraged along with proposed dates to meet in the future.

Working Minds works with Military Veteran’s seeking psychological and practical support to facilitate behavioural activation progressive work outcomes where barriers may exist. We continue to look at providing innovative and inclusive support to Veterans, their partners and their families going forward.

See what happened when Simon met Peter, a Normandy Veteran, still going strong at the grand old age of 92!! (VID to come)
